What is Segmentation?
Customer segmentation is the process of dividing your players into small or big groups based on their similarities and shared traits. Operators may target each category with suitable offers and information tailored to their specific interests. Many factors impact how you segment your players, and you should do so depending on your intended outcomes.
How to use Segmentation in OptiKPI?
OptiKPI follows a simple approach to help you segment your players. Set filters and let our rule engine provide you with precise results.
- Log in to your OptiKPI account and go to the Segments feature.
- Give a name to your segment.
- Go to Include Filter and select the list you want to segment players.
- Add conditions. For example, to segment players whose deposit sum is more than 1000. Select the Deposit list > Sum of Amount > Greater > 1000.
- Set filters and press execute to get the results.
What are “Include” & “Exclude” Filters?
Include Filter includes all the given conditions. In contrast, Exclude Filter excludes all the given conditions when segmenting.
Example for the Include Filter: Registered yesterday and include status active. When set above, the rule engine first filters all players registered in your platform in the last 24 hours, then filters the obtained result. It will deliver the registered players yesterday and whose status is active. You can deploy the welcome greetings campaign using the above example.
Example for the Exclude Filter: Registered yesterday, and exclude who already deposited. (target these players with unique deposit offers, to encourage) When set above, the rule engine first filters all players registered in your platform in the last 24 hours, then filters the obtained result. It will deliver the registered players yesterday who have yet to make their first deposit. You can deploy this approach to target and encourage non-depositors with unique deposit offers.
Press the “+ Add Rule” to include new filters:
Difference between “And” & “Or”
AND feature combines two or more conditions and produces results that satisfy both.
Example for AND: Status of deposit success AND the sum of deposit more than 10 Euros. The result will strictly contain players who made a successful deposit of more than 10 Euros.
OR feature combines two or more conditions and produces results that satisfy either one or the other.
Example for OR: Status of deposit success OR the sum of deposit more than 10 Euros. The result will contain data of all players who have a successful deposit and also data of players whose deposit exceeds 10 Euros.
AND Filters are usually used in most cases.
You can use OR Filter for boosting responsible gaming - you can block all the users whose account is either frozen OR inactive OR closed.
